Once, in a quiet garden, a young caterpillar envied the birds that soared above him. He felt small, bound to the earth, certain that his life would never amount to more than crawling from leaf to leaf. One day, an instinct he didn’t understand urged him to wrap himself in stillness.

Inside the cocoon, everything he had known dissolved—it was dark, uncertain, and uncomfortable. For a time, he wondered if he had made a mistake.
