1985
The Hermès Cannes et Pommeaux scarf, designed by Françoise De La Perrière, tells a story through its depiction of antique walking sticks and riding crops. The design, first issued in 1985, features intricate pommels shaped like various objects, including doe's heads, ducks, and rings, alongside two central riding crops with unique features. One riding crop is surmounted by an effigy of Emperor Franz-Josef, while the other cleverly conceals a field-glass.
The scarf is a tribute to the collection of Émile Hermès, who had a passion for collecting curious and beautiful objects, including these very canes and crops.
The scarf's design is inspired by the collection of Émile Hermès, who had a passion for collecting antique canes, riding crops, and other interesting objects.
