The Story Behind The Scarf

The Hermes Jeu des Cartes scarf design is a fascinating example of how the brand draws inspiration from its rich history and artistic heritage.

The Jeu des Cartes (meaning "deck of cards" or "card game" in French) scarf design is inspired by a deck of cards created in 1948 by the celebrated artist Cassandre.

Cassandre was a multi-talented artist, renowned for his work in posters, typography, theatre sets, costumes, and painting.

In homage to Cassandre and the theme of 2018, Hermès transformed his deck of cards into a scarf.
