The Bumblebee: A Symbol of Finding Purpose

The bumblebee is often a symbol of persistence, community, and finding purpose in small but meaningful work. Despite its size, it plays a vital role in sustaining life through pollination, reminding us that impact isn’t always loud or obvious—it’s often steady and shared.

Bumblebees also represent resilience and focus, moving from flower to flower with quiet determination, guided by instinct and contribution rather than recognition.

In a sunlit meadow, a small bumblebee once worried it wasn’t as impressive as the butterflies drifting gracefully nearby. They danced in bright colors, admired by everyone who passed, while the bee spent its days working—visiting blossoms, carrying pollen, and returning home again and again.

One afternoon, tired and doubtful, the bee paused on a fading flower and wondered if its efforts mattered at all. Just then, a breeze carried the scent of blooming fields far beyond the meadow—flowers that had grown because of countless unseen visits like its own.

Looking around, the bee began to notice something it had never stopped to see: the meadow was alive, vibrant, and full because of quiet, continuous work. With renewed purpose, it lifted into the air, no longer wishing to be noticed—only to be part of something that flourished because it kept going.

Flockbywild is an Australian fashion accessories label where heritage, artistry, and sustainability converge. Founded by Liz Wild, a designer with a lifelong devotion to fashion, textiles, pattern, and color, the brand reimagines vintage luxury silk ties as contemporary wearable art.

Drawing on more than three decades as a sculpture conservator at leading cultural institutions in Australia and the United States,  Liz brings a rare depth of technical expertise to her craft. Her work preserving Indigenous Australian, Contemporary Asian, and Pacific artworks has shaped a nuanced understanding of material, texture, and storytelling, informing every piece she creates.

Each Flockbywild accessory is handcrafted in small batches from vintage luxury ties produced by houses such as Hermès, Chanel, Gucci, Burberry, and Ferragamo. Celebrated for their vibrant hues, sophisticated prints, and enduring silk quality, these textiles are thoughtfully combined and contrasted to create cuff bracelets, earrings, and hair accessories that feel both timeless and unexpected.

I just took some pics not sure if you got them but I thought the product was going to look exactly like the picture shown. The one I received is not exactly like the picture shown - different part of the scarf on mine, different color zipper, not what I expected. I would be nervous to buy as a gift for someone unless I saw it for myself in a store.

The charm itself is beautiful, but the smell is HORRIBLE! It smells like a moldy musky basement. I thought the smell would go away, but it didn’t. I had set the charm on our dining room table and my husband asked what that smell was and he was in the family room. Thought about tossing it but I spent $140, I couldn’t return because I needed to get that box out of my house fast. I have it in a shoebox with charcoal oder eater pads. I hope this works.

This was pretty, but it smells absolutely horrible and can’t use it. Smells moldy. I have a large bedroom and it made my bedroom smell so bad. Moved it to my bathroom, it’s large as well, made that smell. I eant to throw it away but it was $140. If anyone knows how to get a moldy basement smell out of something, please let me know.
