The Ferragamo Varina ballet flat is more than just a shoe — it’s a living symbol of heritage, elegance, and timeless design. Rooted in the brand’s deep connection to the world of ballet and Hollywood glamour, the Varina traces its origins to Salvatore Ferragamo’s early fascination with the grace of dance. In the 1920s, he began crafting flat shoes, culminating in his first official ballet flats in 1954 for the iconic Audrey Hepburn. The Varina, as we know it today, was brought to life in 1979 by his daughter Fiamma Ferragamo, featuring the now-iconic grosgrain Vara bow and engraved logo plate. As a signature piece in the Ferragamo collection, the Varina continues to evolve under the vision of creative director Maximilian Davis, offering fresh colors and fabrics while preserving the understated sophistication that made it a classic.
