Annie Faivre for Hermès

Annie Faivre's Le Roy Soleil Hermès scarf is a tribute to King Louis XIV of France, also known as "The Sun King". The design captures the majesty of the French monarchy during his long reign, which spanned from 1643 to 1715.

The scarf's pattern, first issued in 1994, is a celebration of Louis XIV and his connection to the sun, which he adopted as his personal emblem. Key features of the design include:

Celestial symbols: The scarf features a stylized sunburst at its center and is adorned with celestial imagery like crescent moons and stars.

Baroque opulence: The overall design reflects the luxurious and extravagant Baroque style that flourished during Louis XIV's reign. The patterns and motifs are rich with intricate detail.

In addition to the historical homage, the Le Roy Soleil scarf also includes the playful signature of its designer, Annie Faivre. Faivre is one of Hermès' most prolific and beloved scarf artists, known for her vibrant, intricate, and imaginative designs. The hidden monkey: Faivre always includes a small, hidden monkey within her scarf designs, a nod to her childhood nickname, "little monkey".
