Description

Vintage finds exclusively ours.  Our vintage Hermès scarf animal menagerie is sustainably sourced, locally made with a history and story to be told.

Reimagined from the world’s finest collection of vintage Hermès scarves, our stuffed animal is the perfect gift or decorative accent.

Throughout history, the lion has stood as a powerful symbol of strength, courage, and authority. Often called the “king of beasts,” the lion’s commanding presence and regal bearing have made it an emblem of royalty and leadership.

More than physical power, however, the lion represents fearless resolve—the willingness to stand firm in the face of danger. A lion does not retreat easily; it confronts threats head-on, embodying bravery under pressure and unwavering confidence. This courageous quality has made the lion a symbol for warriors, rulers, and heroes who are expected to protect others even at great personal risk. In literature and popular culture, the lion represents not only nobility and sacrifice but also moral courage—the strength to choose what is right despite fear or suffering.

At the same time, the lion can symbolize ferocity and untamed instinct, reminding us that true courage is not the absence of fear, but the mastery of it.

One-of-a-kind from a vintage Hermès Cliquetis silk scarf paired with a velvet cloth, each piece is unique handmade in a family owned workshop in South Carolina.

This is not a children’s toy and is intended for adult collectors.

Story Behind The Scarf

The Hermès Cliquetis scarf was designed by Julie Abadie and first released in 1972. The Cliquetis design, which translates to "clatter" or "cliquetis" in French, is inspired by antique pieces from the collection of Emile Hermès.

The scarf's design features a fan-shaped composition depicting objects related to cavalry and hunting. These elements, such as hunting knives engraved with symbols (like horns, anchors, suns, or shells), snap hooks decorated with cords and tassels used to hang these knives from cavalrymen's belts, and a sabretache (a flat leather bag also attached to belts for carrying essential items), create a dynamic visual narrative.

The name "Cliquetis" evokes the sounds of swords and sabers clattering together as envisioned by the designer, Madame Abadie, in her design.

The Cliquetis scarf has been reissued over the years in various colorways, solidifying its status as a recognized Hermès classic.

FROM THE FOUNDER

I won't list a piece I wouldn't put in my own home. Twenty years of luxury retail taught me what authentic looks like — and what doesn't.
