The Hermès Poste et Cavalerie scarf, designed by Joachim Metz in 1987, draws its inspiration from the sabretache, a flat leather bag that was part of the uniform of cavalry officers. These bags, often adorned with royal or regimental crests, were worn on the belt beside the officer's saber. They served as pockets, holding various items from orders to fire-starting utensils. The sabretaches featured in the scarf are specifically inspired by those from the period of Louis XIV.

This is a beautifully made accessory that perfectly holds 4-5 lipsticks making them easy to access in my purse. The craftsmanship is lovely and the interior fabric and velvet backing fabric perfectly match the Hermes scarf. The customer service was excellent. My order was shipped by US Postal Service and delayed. Tracking said it was in Guam and then Hawaii. I appreciated the prompt responses to my inquiries- so professional! David promptly sent out a replacement. Ultimately they both arrived and I’ll send one back. Thank you!

I was so happy to find your site. I love vintage scarves and can never seem to get them to look right on me. So when I saw your gorgeous repurposing of these fabulous scarves, I knew I had to have one. It lets me wear it in a beautiful, new way!
I was very excited about this clever concept. I feel this is a fun and responsible way to use luxury textiles. The execution sadly fails with the ‘ crystal’ or whatever material it is, drop part. It looks very cheap and therefore takes away from the earrings as a whole.

It was not quite as exciting as I thought it would be. Good idea, but the leather strap is way too long for my Hermes Evelyne. I had to wrap it around the strap hardware several times. The quality of the charm itself is nice though.
